Principles of Growth

Introduction

Growth marketing is often reduced to tactics: a new targeting trick, an advertising platform feature, a landing-page technique, an AI tool. Most of these eventually disappear, usually soon after everyone has adopted them.

Anyone who has worked in the field for a while has seen the cycle. A tactic works brilliantly for the few who find it first, gets written up in a hundred blog posts and stops working once everyone else piles in. The teams that built their plans around it are left hunting for the next one.

Principles of Growth starts from a different premise: sustainable growth comes from understanding a relatively small number of principles and applying them systematically. They are about who your customers are, what they are worth, what your marketing actually causes and how much you can afford to spend. They held before today’s platforms existed, and they will outlast them.

Growth is not about finding a magical channel. It is about building a system that repeatedly turns attention into customers and customers into economic value. Once that system is in place, new tools are much easier to judge, because you already know the questions they have to answer.
